Buoyancy Control Skills
|< LEARN TO
Your skills are what define you as a diver.
Not your equipment.
No equipment regardless of price can
make up for substandard skills.
The best BCD is your lungs, your most
valuable tool is your brain!
Hands are needed for other tasks not
as aids for steering or propulsion.
STOP telling everyone what you don’t
know with useless hand signals.
|STOP||kicking sand in everyone's face!|
LEARN TO >
FROG KICK IS BETTER BECAUSE:It doesn't cause silting when used close to the bottom and It reduces fatigue and extends dive time by not employing the large , oxygen hungry, muscles of the upper leg. It also does not promote rolling from side to side as the diver moves forward.
SOME FINS ARE NOT SUITED TO FROG KICKING
They only provide an example of how expensive
equipment choices may sometimes actually retard
DON'T FALL VICTIM TO DIVE INDUSTRY FADS!
Split fins are a poor choice for frog kicking!
DON'T GET CAUGHT UP IN TECH DIVER NONSENSE
Jet or Rocket type fins were invented over 50 years ago, at a time when divers knew very little about buoyancy control and even less about frog kicking. Cave divers gave these fins a second chance because their weight eliminated any need to wear ankle weights. DON'T buy into the fantasy that these fins are "the best choice" or even "the only choice" for frog kicking. AND DON'T get caught wearing them "only" to be mistaken for a "tech diver".
Most any paddle fin works well for FROG KICK.
Use that valuable tool ( your brain ) when you
......and when you $hop!
SO FAR.....have you been learning to be a diver or A CUSTOMER???
||Learning to be a "cash cow" and start learning to be a DIVER!!!|
IF you came here looking to learn "advanced nitrox" or perhaps "technical nitrox", you're in the wrong place..
We won't help you to learn "deep tech diving " where you wear lots of tanks "on both sides" and kneel on the bottom, like a beginner.
We don't disapprove of sidemount diving in a cave but do not like "open water sidemount" which we think is a "dress up and pretend" course that is good for the instructor's wallet but only plays to the student's ego. SO we just say no to "Open Water SIDEMOUNT".
We wont take you to "swim with bull sharks" either..
WE WILL: help you re-visit "FIRST BASE" if you have a desire to excel at a dive skill that most others have ignored.
John had "high end" buoyancy skills before he showed up for his cave course. Both he and Maureen had perfected their fundamental SCUBA skills before attending their instructor training.
THAT'S WHAT IS WRONG: almost everyone else fails to do that....BECAUSE of EGO! We think that "almost every diver" is looking for some glorious conquest to call their own. No one wants to perfect their fundamental SCUBA skills....FIRST!
You can do any and all of the things listed above "and more" if you have enough $$$$$$. An don't worry...no one will require you to have good buoyancy.
EXCEPTIONAL Buoyancy Control SKILLS
They're what you learn....to suit yourself!ave diving technique an gas management method)

|"FUNDAMENTAL SCUBA SKILLS ARE NOT [ JUST FOR & ABOUT ] TECHNICAL DIVERS!"|
One training entity compares their course ( in minutes of underwater/bottom time ) to that of another agency that ( they say ) includes only about an hour of actual bottom time as part of the entry level SCUBA Class . They further claim that their own beginner program includes buoyancy training that is sufficient to eliminate any need for a remedial buoyancy course. They claim to offer training (in low 3 figures ) when measured in minutes of bottom time.
WE OFFER “ONLY” REMEDIAL BUOYANCY TRAINING
The Cozumel Dive Operator that we employ for our workshops allows his clients to dive the limits of their gas and computers. We promise to show you how to optimize that opportunity. Our participants probably average 50-55 minutes per dive with some doing as much as 80 minutes by the last day of diving. So our 13 dives amount to 650+ minutes of bottom time devoted to improving SCUBA Fundamentals.
IS THAT TOO MUCH?
Only records how good a diver was for a fraction of a second. That goes for our photos, your photos and any other dive photos that you have ever viewed "on line" or in any certification agency materials or in dive magazine pictures.
VIDEOS are BETTER!
Check out our videos (above).
RECREATIONAL SCUBA DIVING IS A BUSINESS
( A business that does not really need to have "GOOD DIVERS"! )A business that only needs "CUSTOMERS" who can meet the "MINIMUM" Diving Performance Requirements....
Standards that have been designed & established by the purveyors to facilitate their pay day and to secure their control....
